The Boone room is a special room for us, look out the back window and down the woodland trace. We have tried to keep the "feel" simple and quaint. If you get the chance, read about The Cumberland Gap and close your eyes and imagine what life was like back then.
Flintlock rifle over the bed is "real;" but not old. It was made for me by a friend that passed away several years ago. The powder horn is authentic, as is the small pouch. The feather is from a wild turkey that passed through the property. The hat is coyote. The chair is draped with a buffalo hide. The small cabin picture is the last residence Daniel Boone and his family lived in, located in Kentucky before they left for Missouri. The room is equipped with a TV with DVD, refrigerator, private porch and private bath.
We hope you enjoy your stay and feel a little "kindred spirit" with those that came before us.

This was a family cabin made from vertical logs back in the 40’s. The family moved it with them from Indiana to the Irish Hills area. When they had plans to move from Michigan to Tennessee, they were looking for someone to adopt and move the cabin. We purchased and moved the little cabin in 2006. The cabin has electricity and an air conditioner. The cabin is also complete with a small refrigerator, a campfire ring and a picnic area.The traditional out-house or bath are available. It is heated with a wood stove and is available throughout the year.
